I have seen two of them. 'All Quiet on the Western Front' &
'The Banshees of Inisherin'. I enjoyed them both. But I did not understand
point/message of The Banshees. Just enjoyed the actors & the scenery...
"people I know" have seen Elvis & Top Gun: Maverick & enjoyed those pictures.
Question:
Why does The Academy call it Best Picture?
Why do they call it Best Picture?
The awarding body is called the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the award is “Best [Motion] Picture,” because using the formal term gives the industry an air of seriousness—conveying a sense that it's not just churning out mass entertainment, but (on its good days, at least) producing art.
