As I predicted last month on The Pea Blog (ahemm is that a horn tooting?) Michael Vick was named the starting QB today.
Foles is, what 24? Michael Vick is what, 32? And the writer of this piece thinks he is providing us with a "scoop" that Foles will not be traded?
Of course he won't be traded....!@#!.... He is called the "backup quarterback". He is 8 years younger than the starter. He is in training. And he appears to be well on his way in learning his position...by the way...
There are not too many Tom Bradys' out there folks!

My brief time with Charlie... & Missy is waiting at the airport for us...you know who Missy is...right?
- Pea: Are you upset Charlie?
- Charlie: Friggin' (sic) yea I'm pissed!
- P: What went wrong?
- C: Pea, as u know, Baseball is about 4 bases. U got those 4 bases covered & things go good.
- P: 4 bases???
- C: Yea 1st base is Pitchin', 2nd base is hittin', 3rd base is fieldin' & 4th base is Umpirin'
"We can't do a lot about 4th base (Charlie told me). but when we have 1st, 2nd & 3rd covered we do real good. Now, sometimes we only got 1st & 3rd covered & we do ok. Other times we got 2nd & 3rd covered & we have a little trouble. When 1st & 2nd is covered we most of the time do just as good as when all 4 bases are covered!"
- At this point I asked the "Flight Attendant" for a Libation...
I ventured on...
- Pea: so what went wrong in the past few years?
- Charlie: we didn't have 1st, 2nd or 3rd base covered! Simple as that.
- Pea: and who is to blame for that?
- Charlie: "ask Ruben"
I did not get a flight back after Missy picked up Charlie at the airport. Charlie did ask me if I wanted to play golf with him the next day...but I declined the offer...
- I am now stranded in Florida & wondering how I'll get back to The Pea's Place...

Me & my little brother have been having a Blast with our New Toy!
Problem is...he wants to shoot the squirrels and I won't let him...we shoot Diet Coke cans...
Except when these kinds of God's creations show up around your dogs food bowl! Then I bet you wish you had a bee-bee gun handy...

I'm very sorry. I know that nobody cares about this stuff, but...Pea does stand for Politics...
Have you ever heard of someone that retires from a job that needed a "Transition Chief"?
- Hillary ended her 4 year stint as SOS in January. She is 65. A nice age to retire (eligible for Medicare) & Social Security is in her future but, she still keeps Huma on her payroll (how do you have a payroll when you are retired?)
and of course, Huma is married to Anthony. By the way...how do Anthony & Huma afford a $3million "apartment" in Manhattan?
- Abedin has been an aide to Clinton since the Former First Lady's White House days, currently serving as her transition office chief.
All I know about him is that he is from New Jersey. Not exactly a "Hot Bed" for Baseball development.
We never get to see this guy play. How did he get so good? Where, in New Jersey, is he from? Who were his mentors? I guess all this stuff is answered in your subscription to Sports Illustrated, Baseball News, etc, but I have no clue about him! And I am a "general public" senior citizen fan.
1. Mike Trout ($510,000), which should be no surprise. Trout is the best player in baseball, and he makes $20,000 over the league minimum. As Alex Rodriguez makes $29 million and Johan Santana$24.6 million and Vernon Wells $21 million (IS VERNON WELLS STILL AROUND?) and Barry Zito $20 million and countless others stupid amounts of money, Trout is one of the lowest-paid players in the game and continues to set himself up for a historic raise at some point in the near future.
(Thanks to Cot's Baseball Contracts at Baseball Prospectus, the invaluable clearinghouse for all baseball salary information, for the previous and forthcoming dollar values.)
As magnificent as Trout was last year during his age-20 season, he has been even better this season, a staggering achievement seeing as he entered the year peerless already. Batting average? At .330, four points ahead of last year. On-base percentage? A mere .425 after his excellent .399. Slugging percentage? Just .572, up eight points from '12. Trout is walking more, striking out less, still excellent in the field and a terror on the basepaths.
