If you have a place in the Florida Keys you are pretty well off.
It's a really narrow place. You have the Atlantic Ocean on the East & The Gulf of Mexico on the West. In some places they lterally are only yards away from each other.
There is one road in & out. Route 1. Once you are out of the keys you drive through 100's of miles of swamp before you hit civilization.
One day after Hurricane Irma residents are upset that they are not permitted
back to their homes.
They don't seem to understand that the place is dangerous!
That maybe it's for their own good that they are not permitted to drive down
Highway One?
That maybe they should give the people that know what they are doing a few more days?
Or maybe the people that know what they are doing should just let the first 100
cars demanding to get back to their home drive on through?
That would not be right though, would it?

My own Private Hurricane: It was not as bad as Hazel but the Power went out last Tuesday night on Blossom Hill @ 5:08PM.
The sky turned dark at 5PM. It really stormed. Power went out, wind was a whippin', rain was horizontally pouring. The wind (local TV stations said Gusts were as high as 70mph) lasted 'til just before 6PM. The Power did not come back on. So, I got a deck of cards and played with an imaginary friend. Solitaire. And five card stud poker...
Thank goodness I had my flashlight.
I was 0 for 9 in cards when I took myself upstairs with my Flashlight & discovered Jack & a candle hiding in Timmy's cabinet!
picked up my camera and took some photos.
Later I did some Editing
It is really cool what you can do with a Photo.
(If only The Puckett bros had access to digital technology.)
Moody.
More Moody
Black & White
Mellow
I did remain alert for Looters during the storm.
The Power did come on 21 hours later & everything ended
up just Fine...
My imaginery friend ended up winning $14.60 from me!
and there were no Looters.
Things that were happening around 1987/1988...
I bring up the Topic because we just had our McFL
Draft on Labor Day. I had the #1 Draft choice.
Who would you have chosen?
1987 or 1988 is when Sam started his Draft. He was 14 or 15,
Jason was 10 or 11. Sam used to do the Math, he mailed the stuff somewhere.
Whoever he mailed it to would send results back by Thursday or Friday.
In 1988 this was considered a Hot car!
This guy was pulling out of the Casino Business...
A Spy Movie starring Richard Chamberline & Jaclyn Smith was a Hit!
And Sam & Jason could not wait for the Mail to arrive.
So they could figure out the Stats & the Standings.
Nowadays, the computer does all the figuring, tallying, picking, and choosing.
All I had to do was click!
So who did I choose as the first Pick in the first round of the Sam & Jason Fantasy NFL Draft
of 2017?

I'm guessing Whitney had passed on before the word had gone out...
And this one too...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_lCmBvYMRs
I never knew that Dolly Parton wrote the song "I will always Love you"

Whitney Houston was in the same League as Michael Jackson. 'The Entertainers League'.
What other Entertainers are in that League?

So the VA Optomologist called me back for my two year followup.
She asked me how my two year old glasses are doing.
I said not good. I only use them sometimes for night driving and I don't normally drive at night.
She was pissed! She said, "I told you to call me if the tri-focals I gave you were not working"
I told her I am not good on the phone.
And I use Drug store glasses.
So she did another exam. I told her what I need are glasses that will allow me to
Drive, read a book and watch TV. I told her the tri-focals were to bizzy!
I get too dizzy wearing them.
So the solution from the VA Optomologist is that she has prescribed for me
three pairs of glasses.
One for driving, One for reading, and One for watching TV!
Thank you VA...
I am so glad I served!
(if only they would provide Free Dental care)
