What is with the GREEN DOT on QB's Helmets ?

That means that that player is the one with the Radio transmitter and is communicating with his coaches on the sideline...

The green dots originated at Bogie's on Wyoming Ave. they designated the day old prune danish being saved for the cop's kids. Some say that they were actually moldy raisins that fell off the rich folks' cinnamon buns.

If only the QB is allowed to wear a transmitter then why does he have to wear a Green Dot on his helmet? Is it because the Referees are not sure which player is the QB?
