I read that the Largest Parade in Philadelphia History was the 1974 Flyer Parade!
Will this one TOP It?

I won't be there since I'm WORKING!!! Why did I take this job again? Missed playoffs now this.
IMHO this parade will be bigger. In '74 the whole Philly Fan mystique was not really developed like it is now. So many newbie "fans" will want to be there due to the national folks talking about the nasty Philly fans.
Colleges are in session in Philly, it's a Friday, weather is gonna be OK and more folks are in to baseball than they were into hockey in '74. Flyers were only 6 years in the league then. 99% of hockey fans are white. Baseball has more nationalities interested.
More media coverage via Comcast now. Only South Philly had cable on '74. More folks want to be part of the action. Plus I have 5 more kids now than I had in '74 and 3 of them will be there along with a son-in-law and grandson and grandaughter. So right there, that's about a zillion and a half.
Ridge Avenue, Wissahickon Stop, the one near Manayunk. The R-6 Rumbles thru at 10:27, gets you to 17th & JFK @ 10:59AM...Jason and his friends will be on Board with Brewskies...that's what he tells me....Oh Lord! They are starting a "tailgate" thing in Conshy @ 8:00AM and catching the R-6 Train @ 10:12AM... "My Baby"!
