Yer all too young to know! OSCAR would dominate the kid from NC State! Also for your consideration, don't forget defense as part of a 'complete' player. As awsome as he was Senator Dollar Bill would have been hard pressed to handle the Big 'O' from Indiannapolis Ind. And exactly where did Magic finish? Also for thought, Wilt dominated but didn't stay long. He got a nice $$$raise over his Kansas salary to go to NBA as territorial (100 miles radius)pick of Warriors. Eddie Gottlieb had the rule installed just to get The Dipper. My summary: Lew Al. / Big 'O' / Magic
Yo... WEIRDOS!! Do any of you know anything about this subject. Hands down, you must include the "Pistol" and the Cool Critter from Cabin Creek (Jerry West for you know nothings)Plus can we include Elgin Baylor?? Oh yeah, I know he played in Seattle so he's out. And it seems to me I remember one George Mikan, totally unstoppable with his hook shot. "The redhead" How many chanpionships and he dropped more tha 40 on the opposition shooting 21 for 22 from the field. (In the national championship game) Oh, I'm tired trying to educate you guys. And let me speak of Bevo Francis...
Gay Caballero, now go take your sedative and return to bed. G.Mikan??? That was before TV and I know u were at least 20 before u ventured west of the Schuylkill or north of the boulevard, so whatdya no. Besides, the guy had the advantage of threads on the ball and the cage walls were in bounds. I seem to remember your personal pivot style being a bit similar to Big George. Also, I knew Bevo Francis Mr. Caballero and you were no Bevo Francis. Anyone out there know who B. Francis was? What did he due???
To yo yo naismith: MJ was GREAT but the game accommodated him too much for my taste. He was allowed to carry the pill, waaallllk w/ the pill, grab the guy he was guarding w/ said pill and the whistle blew anytime he wanted it to or anyone breathed near him. A great player and winner (because he had a superb team of talented guys who subordinated selves to him...he wouldn't have won anything on a poor team...but I never heard him give credit to his teammates) but he had his own personal set of rules...a true self centered prima donna. I rank him #4!!!!
this was a Post about the Greatest College Players of all time! Not the Greatest Players of all time...MJ was probably the best player ever, but he was not a Great College player. As they say, the only person able to hold MJ under 20 points per game was Dean Smith! Alcindor changed the game dramitically, Princeton went to the Final Four with Dollar Bill! And David Thompson was the Most Fun to Watch! The Committee stands by their Choices!!!
