- Finally, they say his #40 is Retired by the Eagles. I did not know that.

Thoughts on the news of Tom Brookshier's death...
What a good football player and announcer. Only thing I hold against him is that he gave us Angelo Cataldi. I read the Inquire reporting his death at 78 and did not realize he still lived in the area, West Conshohocken. Other stuff...

Brookie was a very good FB player. Unfortunately, he was never the same after returning from the broken leg. It forced early retirement on him. I was 13 when he broke his leg, I think. Rest in peace!
I met him someplace as a teen. My memory was that he impressed me as a real nice guy who loved sports and didn't take himself too seriously.
40 is a lousy number though. RIP Brookie
