I looked up "mourning" on Wikipedia & came up with this...
"Mourning is, in the simplest sense, synonymous with grief over the death of someone."
It gave a multitude of answers to the query, everyone has a different length of time that is appropriate. From 3 Days to a Year. Different Religions & non religious have their own advice.
Anyways...I intend to end my official "mourning" period on May 1st.
I gotta get my blood flowing and move on...it is so hard to do
This is just a final thank you to all you guys that helped me get thru this so difficult period...I don't mean to sound dramatic, it is just a dramatic time for me & such a sad time...
Love ya all...and I don't say that lightly

We love you too Gerry and will be here for you whenever you feel the need to "connect"...we miss JudyAnn too!
I don't think there is a fixed period for mourning. We just learn to live with the loss. If your mourning period extends beyond May 1 - regardless of how long - your family will support you, that's what we do. That said, getting busy is always a good thing. Hang in there, we love you too. Now, about that Eagles draft...

I agree with Edward: take your time and be good to yourself on the mourning. If May 1st comes and you don't feel like letting it go--don't.
Your family and friends just love you and support you...no matter what...whenever...however!!!
God bless Judy Ann and You!
How long does Alonzo Morning get to mourn?
