$127,929,379

No Real Point to the Post but...

The Philadelphia Phillies have a payroll of: $172,976,379 - MLB Best 60 Wins
The Pittsburgh Pirates have a payroll of: $45,047,000 - Leading the Central with 51 Wins

The Philadelphia Phillies are paying $127,929,379 more for their team than the Pittsburgh Pirates and have ONLY NINE more wins!

If the season ended today, the Phillies would be playing the Pirates in a Best of Five series. The Pirates have already defeated the Phillies 2 out of 3 games. Could the impossible happen? Can't wait for October...

NUMBERS...The Phils payroll is $1,067,755 per Game. Pirates payroll is $278,067 per Game. Say the avg Fan spends $50 at a Game. Phils 45,000 Fans/Pirates 25,000 Fans. Phils Gross $2,250,000 per Game. Pirates Gross $1,250,000 per Game. Phils Profit per Game= $1,182,245. Pirates Profit per Game=$971,933.

I would rather be a Phillies Owner...

Remember, this is the team that gave us a "skinny" Barry Bonds.
