Long distance driving...

...even when you tell yourself I am not in a hurry, I will just take it easy. You still get caught up in the experience. At least I do...

When you consider yourself a "Good Driver", as I do,  it is really difficult to just Glide along in the right hand lane & witness so many Driver Infractions! E.G....

  1. staying in the Left Lane! Speed Limit may be 70 & these Jerks think going 70 in the Passing Lane is Fine!
  2. I pass the above  Jerk in the right lane & they speed up to prevent me from getting ahead of them!
  3. Semi-Truck drivers put their left signal on & believe they are free to move you to the rear. And proceed unaware, for the next 8 miles, that it is taking them too long to get back in the right lane.
  4. So many people you pass come back to pass you, while you have maintained a speed of 78MPH & they have altered their speed!
  5. So many people slow down when passing a truck
  6. So many Trucks pass these people on a "down-grade" And I sometimes think the Family Van will head for the "Runaway Truck Ramp"!
Anyways...I think I broke the Record from Johnson City, Tn to Phila. 8 hours, 30 minutes. I know I could have shaved off another 20 minutes if three Dump Trucks had not been in the Left Lane from W Va to Chambersburg, Pa!
  • In case you are wondering...I did call Forrest & Posted my "official time". I'm sure he has already recorded it...in the Official Record Keeper Note Book...
