My 1st Day @ the VA Lancaster Medical Center...this was my first appointment...

I showed up 1/2 Hour before my appointment time, as I have been instructed to do @ The Phila VA Medical Center. That will allow time for getting thru Security, finding a parking space, walking to the Building, and standing in line @ the kiosk behind the other guys to register for the appointment.

  • Well...I find myself cruising thru the parking lot in front of the building pictured above & I continue right on out of there! That cannot be a VA Facility I say to myself...there were only 4 cars in the Lot!
  • So...I stop next to a Pond with a guy w/ a chain saw converting a tree into Walt Whitman & call TJ...he tells me I am in the right location & the guy w/ the chain saw works for the Lanco Park Creators!@#$%^&*or something....
I took a deep breath, entered "The Clinic" @ 12:50PM & my blood pressure was high...
  • To be continued...this may be a boring Post but, I think it is a lot more informative/interesting & entertaining than The Ed Show or The Rachel Maddow Show I was TRYING to watch...which induced me to do my own thing...

Things Guys would gladly have in their Kitchen...

This is a Photo of Ric Smits, a retired 45 y.o. Ex-Pacer. A pretty good player in his day. He is now married with kids & likes to ride Dirt Bikes! He has actually won awards in the sport...he is also 7'4" and weighs about 300lbs...

  • The only thing his wife insists on is..."if you are going to park it in Kitchen you need to clean the Wheels!"

Photos...

We were at Jonathan's Baptism Celebration yesterday. He never opened his eyes...slept the whole time I was there.

  • Got home today and realized "I never took a photo!"...and never asked anyone to take a photo of me & Jonathan for The Pea Blog...
A certain "brother-in-law" told me that he witnessed his family that own "Hi-tech" photo equipment standing around @ their Thanksgiving Fest taking Photos from their phones! He was told, "the phones are just as good"!
  • I need to remember to bring my I-phone with me where ever I go...so I can "Put in Photos" what my day is all about! Won't that be swell?!?
P.S.   Jonathan? You need to allow your Uncle Gerry a "Photo Shoot"...OK?

The view from my Patio!

Maureen sat down here tonight and asked..."was the Patio included in the Rent?"

  • she also told Timmy that he should Trim some of the bushes so Gerry would have a better view!
TJ said..."I'll get on that 1st thing in the morning Maureen..."

  • kudos to Bill Zee for the photo

They need a Bigger Bench! But, the breakfast table fit all that were there...

...there are at least 4 or 5 Grandkids missing in these photos...

  • I am planning a Saturday afternoon Movie Matinee for this Group...
  • Popcorn & licorice, juicy fruits & Coke!
I need some Movie suggestions for a "Double Feature"!?!

It's my Blog! So I can Post photos of my Grankids & my Sick kid on this Thanksgiving weekend...

They were all sick in the beginning of the week (I could have posted Justin's projectile vomiting on the Flag Football field) from last Sunday...but they all look well at Uncle Ryan's house on Thursday...

  • Meanwhile, Jason missed his Turkey Bowl today cause he has "The Bug"!

My first I-phone photo taken on Thanksgiving Eve in Lancaster. I'm a little shakey

  • Seven Pizza boxes in view...a Fully  Tapped Keg in "my apartment"...a Turkey in a plastic bag "marinating" or "brining" or something..250 plus T shirts & Sweat shirts being made in the garage...4 dogs roaming around...and I am being quizzed on the Grand-kids names! So far I have done well...
  • Meanwhile, a tree branch fell on my car and I am now driving a rental!
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree...

Since many of you do not frequent Facebook, I thought I would Post a Kelly Facebook moment...

Kelly volunteered @ Amanda's class & ended up with a scorpian in her hand! I challenged Kelly, saying it was a rubber replica but she claims it was real! If you Click on the photo you will see hair on "TheBeast"! (I couldn't spell follicles)

This is where, the now 68 year old, John/Jack "hangs out"...

@ $4.50 per phone call via Virgin Mobile I am not about to place a call to The Pub to wish him a Happy Birthday! I have already spent $4.50 to leave a message! Which he never listens to!

What the !@#$%^&*???...I have apparently gone over my allowable minutes w/ Virgin Mobile...

I am TEMPTED to sign up for the I-phone...

...but since I get about 19 phone calls a year...I think I will stick w/ the Virgin Mobile plan...

We @ 180 Evergreen Drive are trying to get The Pea to wear his aids @ all times

...Pea is so deaf we are starting to talk behind his back & he doesn't hear us!

  • "this is just some of the conversation I heard through the "air duct" leading to the basement...

In a "Round Table" discussion I was told that The Harry Potter series is worth watching...

The "Round Table" was in Lanco...but I think I am getting Karma from Redondo!

  • The "Round Table" group all agreed that I should begin with Book One...

Went to register @ the Lebanon Valley VA today...

Me & TJ parked after not encountering any Armed Guards or Entry Clearance like in the Phila VA.

  • Walking to the building a guy in a Golf Cart stopped & drove us the rest of the way!
On to The Reception Desk...a little ole'lady...(in Phila VA you swipe your ID card & get computerized directions, if you have a scheduled Appt). The lady directed us to Room 123. "Make a right down this Hall, then a Left" she said.
  • We walked into Room 123 & walked to a "cubby" where a woman greeted us with a "Hello". No Ticket # Machine...no waiting alongside 37 other guys for your Name to be called.
  • Sue took my info,  gave me some "time saving" help & wished us a Happy Day...
Upon leaving we passed "The Pharmacy". I was surprised to see the Pharmacist dispensing scripts through an open window! No Bullet Proof Glass or two way Security  doors...
  •  I was somewhat  disappointed that our Golf Cart guy was not there to transport us back to our vehicle when we walked through the Automatic Doors as we exited the Building.
:>)

After 60 some years this is not Good Company...

I was perusing the Internet & these are some of the Photos I have come across...The Media is Brutal!

    • Question...
  • Will Joe Pa's rep be forever tarnished?

...my daughter-in-law is a "Groupie" & she admits to it!

Elliott Yamin is the person groping Kelly...did you Vote for Him?

  • and No, I have no idea what that is on Kelly's back...in case you were going to ask...

I just find it "curious" that Paddy has been looking for a Bike to carry a Big Man & Shawn Bradley's bike was stolen...

Former NBA poster subject Shawn Bradley's absurd height gave him a chance to earn millions of dollars in a relatively short period of time, but it's also made his life tougher in many ways. It's tough to find clothes for a 7-foot-6 frame, for one thing, and he pretty much has to drive giant vehicles no matter his aesthetic preferences. That includes bicycles, too.
What that means, functionally, is that Bradley's $10,000 custom bike cannot be ridden by all but a few people in the entire world. So it comes as something of a shock to learn that it was stolen last Friday in a Salt Lake City suburb. From Pat Reavy for KSL.com (video story available at link):

Ready to buy some fish...

I took over the Pea's fish tank when he moved to Lancaster. I think I am ready to add in some fish. Maybe I'll buy a flounder.

We went to dinner last night @ the Lititz VFW Hall

We met Maureen's co-worker Jim & his wife Tricia & their daughter. We also met "The Post Commander"...his name was Jim. And Maureen gave him my Discharge Papers which proves that I am a  War Veteran! Next thing you know, Jim, The Post Commander,  is back at our table welcoming us to his Post!

  • The Commander was so excited to see us that he invited Tim & Maureen to join along with Maureen's buddy Jim (who is already a Social member) he's not a veteran & Jim's wife Tricia who The Post Commander thought was my wife!
Along with the daughter & any of her friends that have Saluted in their life-time!
  • I am being sarcastic...it was a nice experience. TJ had Haddock, Maureen had Liver & Onions & I "just had a salad"
  • We had 4 beers & 1 glass of wine...and the Bill with Tip was ...
Twenty Dollars...$20.00

So Brother Michael showed up in Lanco today! and this is what he/we did!

he laid the Rug whilst I was away...went with me to K-Super Mart! Also...

  • We had cheese & crackers @ my "Island" area...along w/ diet coke for Michael...
  • I was scolded for my presentation of the "Fridge Pac"
Like my Sister before him...we went Shopping. To K-mart...I needed a trash can & an additional "throw rug", along w/ silver-wear & Michael reminded me, a silver wear holder!

Bottom line? It was a great visit! TJ, Maureen, Michael & Me went through some Classic Memororialabila(sic)..or whatever...and some "cocktails"

Fun stuff...

  • and my Face is still Redder than Red

My sister made a visit to my new location today.

WE went to K-Mart & Target. Bought a couple of throw rugs, a curtain, curtain rods, a Mercedes Benz, and she treated for Queen size sheets! I sometimes wish "some" of my brothers' were sisters. Sisters are so much easier to deal with...

3 Years ago on this date our President was elected.

In his victory speech at Grant Park in Chicago, seen in this video, Mr. Obama declared: “The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you: we as a people will get there.”

Another unsolicited song suggestion from the Pea to the BM's!

Thursday, November 3, 2011

I am currently in negotiations w/ The Home Owners Association (I had no idea there was such an association) about My best move on Communication...

TJ & Keelan got the latest 4XXX whatever I-Phone delivered today & now they think it would be a good move for me to Ditch my "Virgin Mobile", which costs me $17.95 per month, for a used I-phone!

  • TJ (my LandLord) tells me he will sell me his old I-phone for $200.00, OR! Rent me his old I-phone for $50.00 per month...
I am confused.....What should I do???

George Harrison And Bob Dylan If Not For You Rehearsal

We recently went to Courtney's sisters wedding and this was their wedding song. What was your wedding song?

Bunkers & Turning in your Comcast Equipment @ their "Customer Friendly Service Center"

I had to return the stuff to their "designated location". Could not return it to Lancaster Comcast. My drop off location was around 49th & Girard Ave in Phila.

  • An Armed Guard nodded me a pleasant Hello
  • There was only one other person in line
The place was a Horseshoe of Bullet Proof Glass & they spoke to me from tiny circles in the Glass. Could not understand a Word the guy was saying & suggested to him that he use "Sign Language". He did!
  • He signed that I should Flip the two Boxes over so he could scan the Bar Code on each, and also the "router" which has a Bar Code. He used a Scanner that penetrated the Bullet Proof Glass! My two Remotes had no Bar Codes.
Now I had to turn over the stuff...I had to put it through a Bullet Proof window that just barely allowed the stuff to enter (sorta like a Night Deposit Box)...I had to interrupt the 16 people that had formed in the Rope Line behind me to tell them I have been here for half an hour & I just need someone to come to "The Slot" & allow me to push my other stuff through! The slot would allow only one piece at a time...I had 5 pieces.
  • Not a good experience today at Comcast. I am sure there are reasons for the Bullet Proof Glass & other measures & I am not being critical. But we are talking TV time here People! Not life & death scenarios. It is The Public that Comcast is protecting their employees from...
The Public that Comcast serves!
