It's a baffle & it has been on the pole for one month, today. No critters have gotten to the bird food yet.
As you can see, I have three different feeders on the pole.

Good for you, Pea; I dislike those creatures immensely--ever since one of them entered our house, ate the bottom of a door, created chaos in the kitchen and family room and then went to PERMANENT "sleep" on top of Mary's comforter on her bed!
