My first two cars...

When I was entering my Junior year of High School, our neighbor Mr Osterlee (who owned a Sinclair Gas station @ 5th & Allegheny) sold me a Ford. They did not have Model names at that time. It was just a Ford.

It was blue, a stick shift & it cost me $35 dollars.

I pretty much taught myself how to drive it.
Dad did take me out once & told me about "easing up on the clutch
and feathering the gas pedal"

I had no idea what he was talking about.

In 1965 brother John took it to College in Altoona, Pa
and I never saw my Ford again.

In 1970 I bought a 1964 Chevy Impala (they were giving their cars
ID's by that time)

My Impala had Power Windows, a Red interior and
Whitewalls! Dad just shook his head.

Oh yea...the Impala cost me $1100.
I did not let John borrow it.
And it was a "Chick Magnet!"

LOL...!

About the Ford: I didn't take it w/out objection. Dad ordered me to take it (I kid you not) as he didn't want to take me back with "all' my clothes. I took it after he gave me $20. for expenses (consider he took my weekly paychecks from Acme markets for six weeks). I got to school and hardly used 'the Ford' be/ I had no moola. As luck would have it we got a Loretto cold wave in October and the engine block froze (no anti-freeze)....fiends towed it to Chicks garage in Loretto and it may still be there as a monument to the long ago past. I'd like to tell stories of wild nights with gorgeous coeds but no, 'the Ford' just sat there until it froze over.......I owe Gerry an old '53 Ford.......mark it down.

I learned to drive in that 1953 Ford..never gave it a thought, that Dad didn't buy & ownit..So
Pea was wheelin' & dealin" with Osterlee? cool! Great Impala, too, Pea..gorgeous car. As for donating "dead" vehicles to "Chicks" garage in Loretto, Pa...I too, donated an old Green Chevy rock&roll delivery truck, I once owned..it too, froze to death, in the ice and snow, of Loretto,Pa..funny coincidence! Now, about that green Dodge Seneca...

Car Finder...I just checked out your sites on '53 Fords. Uncle John owes me something between $2500 & $27,000!
I will happily accept a Car Wash & a Waxing!
