Yesteryear I would have never given this Topic a thought...

But if you are contemplating buying a gun for
home protection I would not suggest a revolver.
A revolver usually contains six bullets. If you are concerned about family safety
you have to keep the gun loaded, ie, 6 bullets in the revolver.
Accidents happen when there is a loaded gun in the home.

A Glock, unlike a pistol, uses a Clip that may contain
10 to 15 bullets. The advantage of the Clip Gun is that you can keep the clip with the bullets in it separate from the gun. It only takes 5 seconds to find & insert the clip in the grip of the gun.

Problem with a clip type pistol is you need to make sure there are no
bullets in the chamber ready to fire.

Shotguns
Joe Biden told Jill to just go out on the balcony
& fire two rounds from that double barrel sucker &
the bad people will run for the Hills in Delaware!

Shotguns are scary things to be faced with, all you have to do w/a shotgun
is point & pull & you will hit something.

But the best thing for Home Protection is to get a dog like

COCO!
Coco had a Very loud bark
and Coco had Very sharp teeth!
and Coco could be Very kind & gentle

So does Uncle John. Coco was a GREAT dog. Loved walking her, very obedient and calm in public, allowed total strangers to pet her. Great at attracting Saturday breakfast/lunch diners in Manayunk who just loved to stop us as they sat dining. A "chick magnet".
Truth, the events of her final day were truly very very sad. Uncle Pea showed his genuine love for her when it was inevitable.....RIP, Coco in doggie heaven.

PS: I can also remember the shrill of Judy Ann's voice, "COCO, GET AWAY FROM ME....GERRY!"
