Watching the Phils/Nationals on TV...Washington (our Congress, not the Team) is supposedly working thru the weekend on the Financial Bailout (which Tim McCarver referenced) and Arlen is sitting behind Home Plate in a suit and tie! YIKES!

Philly PD Management 101

Watching Action 6 news this morning they showed video of a police sergeant who sufferd a heart attack while on duty in North Philly. The video was of the emergency room entrance at Temple. Had to be over 100 police officers, the mayor and commissioner standing around on a Friday night in North Philly. A great photo op of the cops showing off their medals (something Commish Timoney from NYC started that I HATE) piled high above their badge. I know crime is down with the new mayor and commish but my Management 101 tells me that somebody should be patrolling the streets. During the clip they said shots rang out "across the street" and the video shows 101 overweight cops jiggling down the street, many making sure they didnt run too fast, you never want to be first on the scene of live gunshots. Back in the day there was always a Captain chasing cops away from the scene of any incident that drew that many officers. Guess they all retired to Lancaster.

My prediction: # 1 This is Phil Mickelson's last Ryder Cup. The senior player in his 7th(?) Cup is not contributing. He was on a clip saying he feels old based on the other team members. I can't imagine Tiger ever saying he feels old. Phil's playing head to head against a kid and he can't put the kid away. Meanwhile Sergio, The Great "Neverwas" is choking against America's Anthony Kim. Kim hasn't conceeded a putt to Sergio yet! He just missed a 4 footer that the announcers said he should concede. New Age Golf baby. # 2 The Drycleaners Assoc of America will declare a National 10% off Day if Kim tops Sergio! # 3 Golf would be much more of an exciting spectator sport if all PGA events had fans act like it was the Ryder Cup and US Open. # 4 Ryder Cup will end without ever mentioning Tiger Woods.

So, it's Saturday night & I am watching the Phils...

I want to include the wife, since it's Date Night, so I ask...

She looks at me and says, "a strike?" I was expecting her to say

But no...she suggested the same thing Joe Blanton tried...a pitch down the Middle! a strike...the batter stroked the pitch to the Right Field Wall...two runs scored.

So, my wife knows as much about Pitching as Joe Blanton !

Watching the Fightin Phils tonight the new guy, just traded to Atl, on the Braves comes up to bat with the Phils leading 2 - 0 and Harry says, "Hockman (or something like that) doesn't have a home run or RBI yet for the Braves." I'm thinkin', "why'd ya say that Harry?" "Ya jinxed 'im" Crack !!!! That baby is outta here! 2-1 Several innings later, Pat the Bat is up and the other announcer says pretty much the same thing Harry did and yep, you know it, "That baby's outta here!" 4 - 2 Phils. Is it just me or is there really something to jinxing a game? The little woman and I have watched our share of our kids' games over the years and she still doesn't respect, get, understand or believe the jinx thing. She DOES believe Uncle Johnny is a jinx though. He shows up at your game ya might as well surrender. He's about 0 - 4 with our kids.

Pea's Down and Out...

Uggghhhh... What a long morning this has been... Father Pea and I were found bu Coco this morning at or around 6:00 AM. She located us in a back yard of one of Father Pea's Roxborough neighbors. Apparently Father Pea and I decided to drown out our sorrows from the Eagles loss to the Cowboys by pounding a few cases of Heinekens. Not a good idea. Then Father Pea was so mad he decided to rip out all the grass from his neighbors back yard!(see above picture)

Currently The Father Pea is laid out on his bed with some sort of lower back pain. Apparently he slept on it wrong (See above picture, I'm not sure what he is smiling about)... Can you say Yoga Pea?

I'm off to LA on a 3:55 flight and turning around tomorrow morning at 6:00 AM to drive home. This drive should be interesting. I've got to dry out.

When I watch the Phils on TV & the Eagles on TV while listening on the Radio...

• The radio Audio is "Behind" the Action on the field when the Phillies play, and
• The radio is "Ahead" of the Action when I listen to Merrill & the Eagles!

Why is that?

Try it sometime....

ps...understand, I know about Editing. But, when watching the Phils the radio audio comes about 10 seconds AFTER TV. When watching the Eagles the audio comes about 5 seconds BEFORE the Video...

Go figure...

Ummm…. HELLO!!!! Eagles vs Cowboys tonight!!!

Ummm…. HELLO!!!! Eagles vs Cowboys tonight!!! Can I get some excitement in this frickin’ BLOG?

I HATE the Cowboys with every bone in my body. I really, really HATE them. I hate Jerry Jones. He looks like a skeleton with old wrinkled skin stretched over his face. I hate Terrell Owens because he has great Abs like mine. I thought I was the only one. I hate Tony Romo because he gets a pass on playoff losses because he is the white quarterback playing for “America’s Team”…

Some quick facts to think about while watching the game tonight:
1.) The Dallas Cowboys are 1-3 versus the Philadelphia Eagles since acquiring Terrell Owens.
2.) Tony Romo has been in the NFL for 6 years and has never won a playoff game.
3.) Andy Reid is 13-5 against the Dallas Cowboys as the Philadelphia Eagles head coach
4.) Cowboys safety Roy Williams is now a 1st and 2nd down Safety. Look for a big play against him early in the game. (post pattern)
5.) I really hate the Cowboys… Eagles - 17 Cowboys – 13

I’m too fired up to work right now… This sucks! 5:30 hours and counting.

Jason and his Dad were at the Miss Avalon dock at 7:26 AM ready to Board the Boat for the 8AM "Gpeablog Deep Sea Fishing Adventure". Lo and behold no-one else showed up...

So...we ventured out on the 15 foot Boston Whaler "Old Crow"...

Fishing Report Card:

1. 8 Flounder caught that had to be tossed back (flounder season is over)
2. 22 Snapping Blues caught (thrown back cause they were not Snapping)
3. 13 Stripers caught (thrown back because they didn't have enough Stripes)
4. 14 Crabs caught in our crab traps (too crabby, tossed back)
5. Coast Guard boat tried to "caught" us Misbehaving (they were tossed back when we had the Requsite Life Jackets and No Alcohol on Board)

Another day in the life of ....

Boat Rides...

Eddie, that was a nice boat in which you talked about but I say the guy go out and buy a Cigarette boat. I took this short video while on my friends Cigarette boat last weekend. It captures the take off but I had to stop because I had to hold on! We were up to 80 mph in the back bay from Stone Harbor to Avalon. Very fun, very fast.
