Ugh! Phils clinch!!!....Jamie is down... But, I guess this Makes some Post Season Choices easier.

Moyer to have surgery
  • By the way, as a person that has had a "whole lot of injuries" and a Fair number of surgeries, I am wondering what Exactly they do with a "Groin Injury Surgery"? Anyone out there that has gone thru this Groin Injury Surgery?

The Ax Man Returns!!!

I have to say, I am very happy to have the Ax Man back in the green and black... This 2009 season we are in is shaping up to be a great year. I recommend you get on the Bus! I can tell you from what I have seen thus far, we have a great team. The Eagles have a bye week this week, Tampa Bay at home and then at Oakland. So, we are looking at 4-1 when division play begins on October 26 against the Redskins, Giants and Cowboys. That three week stint may be the most exciting football we have seen in a while. Get on the Bus!!! The Ax Man Is Back!

A PEDRO GRAND SALAMI AND THE MAGIC # IS

.....................ONE.................!

The Cookers Angels Season has ended...(Total Chagrin)

In a devastating 9-2 Defeat today the Angels are out of the Playoffs! The Angels had 12 Errors today, not to mention "Mental Miscues". On the Bright side...Cooker had the two R'sBI! The whole "over 60 Softball League" got me to thinking. It looked like a Fun Time, Old Gassers plying their stuff. As a bystander, I could tell who the "athletes" were as opposed to the "Gym Rats". Usually, the Gym Rats were more agile and flexible than the Athletes. Then again the Gym Rats had no clue as to how the Game of Baseball is played...but they could run.
  • Bottom Line...I was inspired by what I saw!
  • I think I am going to look into a Softball League for some place in Montgomery County for next year. My initial idea is that we cannot limit it to 60+ people. We need to invite "The World" to the "Pee Softball League"!
Some random thoughts, since the Idea is just taking Root...
  • Minimum of Four Teams, more Teams are of couse welcome
  • No age Limit
  • The following paragraph is a Big Deal so pay attention...
Instead of asking people to gather players and Form their own Team, we would gather PEOPLE that WANT to Play, have 4 or 6 General Managers, and have a DRAFT!
  • NOW, stay with me here...Since we will have people in the League that are young, infirmed, indifferent and Bizzy...
  • WE will start the Season in April, with 4 Games...
  • Trading would be allowed during May, June, July & August
  • We would Finish the Season in September, with 4 Games!
  • Games would be played on Saturday or Sunday.
A Banquet will then be held in October where Trophies will be Awarded!
  • ARE YOU IN? (and I doubt that anyone that visits this Blog got thru the first paragraph)

POLITICS!... anyone out there ...

...know who Valerie Jarrett is ?

MOMMIES ARE AWESOME!

19.2lb Baby Boy Born in Indonesia....Mom is still recovering...

Do you have a Child in Pittsburgh Tonight?

IT IS THE G-20 Meeting in Pittsburgh...World Leaders are there, including our President...and these "kids" are Protesting "they know not what"...who do you know whose kid is there? TELL THEM TO CALL PEA! The march had begun at a city park, where an activist from New York City, dressed in a white suit with a preacher's collar, started it off with a speech through a bullhorn. "They are not operating on Earth time. ... They are accommodating the devil," he said. "To love democracy and to love the earth is to be a radical now." The activist, Billy Talen, travels the country preaching against consumerism. He initially identified himself as "the Rev. Billy from the Church of Life After Shoppin"

IT IS 8:42 PM AND I THINK IT IS TOO LATE TO CALL...

...MY BIG SIS TO WISH HER A TRULY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! AM I RIGHT THAT THIS IS THE CELEBRATION OF HER FIRST BIRTHDAY WITH TWO, count 'em, TWO NEW HIPS AND RETIRED? CAN ONES' LIFE GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALYCE....to be true...it was actually Cookers fault that I did not call earlier, he MADE me go with him to his Softball Game where he went 4 for 4 with 4 Homers, 4 Put-outs, 4 stolen Bases! and 14 RBI's...! unfortunately, the phone camera he handed me ran low on juice before any of theses Heroics occurred and before his Tribute to His Big Sis on HER Birthday! He was in Full Angels Regalia too...Happy Birthday Sister Alyce!

Kelly has a New Blog Titled "I'm Going for It"

In the Blog she writes about her Days, the Kids, the Meals and the Exercise routines. Kelly posted this photo on her Blog on Friday and talked about a "Therapy Walk" she took with a Friend on the Strand. This photo was taken on The Strand, about 2 Miles from their Home and Kelly says in her Blog, "I don't get there often enough". I say, How come? By the way, it looks the same in February as it does in September...The photo says to ME...Wake Up and Smell the Roses Pea! Get out in the Fresh Air!

Smitty: & a few of his Buddies bidding him Goodbye...

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Mr. Smitty "The 1 Eyed Wonder Dog" McKendry on Tuesday 9/15/09. Smit succumbed to the ravages of time. He is proceeded in death by his brothers Duke, King and Fido. Mr. Smitty was born in Wisconsin and spent his formative years in dog pounds, rescue homes and animal shelters in the Badger state. At the tender age of 2 he adopted a family in Michigan who longed to own a one eyed, untrained, wandering terrier. His hobbies were car chasing, siren howling, dirty diaper shredding and crotch sniffing. He often hiked to exotic places like Delp Rd., Arbor Rd., Fruitville Pike and other local sites. He enjoyed long rides in police cars followed by expensive stays at the Lancaster Humane League. Smitty achieved the enviable status of Two Time Offender, the next time your owner is arrested, in the Fall of '03. His warm greetings will be missed by everyone but most especially by his 2 aunts Alyce and Mary. Condolences may be sent to Timothy J. in Lancaster. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate dozens of large oatmeal raisin cookies to remember him by. Funeral services arranged by Warwick Run Vet and Waste Management Inc.

4 BM's at Citizens Bank Park

A trip to a Phillies game. Chris got to see some uncles, Gerry sent a message to his grandchildren, and Eddie and Gerry sang "Take Me Out to the Ball Game". Cole struck out 10 and the Phillies sweep the Nationals. A good night for all.

The Golden Kings

Saturday was Justin's debut in organized sports as a member of the AYSO U5 (under five) team, the Golden Kings. Squaring off against the Sharkies, The Kings fell behind 3-1 in the third quarter before Justin went to work with two goals in the final period to lead a furious rally by the boys in yellow. They ended up tying 4-4, but left knowing they'd laid the foundation for better things to come.

A McDermott was the "Mastermind" behind todays' EAGLE WIN!

I was surprised by the Force of the Eagles today. Carolina is (was?) a good team...but McDermott rallied his Troops and they Kicked Butt! I think "nabby" may have a broken rib or two...of course Dick Stockton (who has probably never caught a ball in his life) was immediately claiming that McNabb was grabbing his knee. When all he was doing was trying to gather his breath!

School Resumes on Tuesday after the Labor Day Holiday...

Will your child be hearing the address from President Obama in their School? That would be September 8. Apparently, this will be the first Presidential address sent via Hi-Tech Satellite directly to the classrooms...people are "leery"...
  • There will be two separate Messages...Grades 1thru6 and Grades 7 thru12.
  • I have No problem with this
  • If I were President, I would want to say a word to the Kids in the Classroom on their First Day of the School year...
Lets' hear what he says and then we can...
  • Applaud, or
  • Criticize
HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND EVERYONE! Don't forget to put your FLAG out....

Are we Born with Patience or is it Learned ?

Patience is the state of endurance under difficult circumstances, which can mean persevering in the face of delay or provocation without becoming annoyed or upset; or exhibiting forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with longer-term difficulties. It is also used to refer to the character trait of being steadfast. Antonyms include hasty and impetuous

The Cooker stopped over today...and he said a lot more than this LONG Post!

Among many other things, he Explained why he has not been on the BLOG in the past month or so...It felt like someone Visiting the POPE...I was thinking of using our bathroom as a Confessional Box!...he even called before-hand to ask if I was accepting Visitors...he also gave me a Gift! An Indianapolis Colt Hat??? (being my younger brother by less than 17 months he knew I always wanted to be a Cowboy & ride Colts & learn quick draw)..Anyway, I digress... here we Go...
  • His computer has been Busted and in the Repair Shop for a month
  • Gets it back & it still doesn't work...
  • GEEK SQUAD is making a Home visit this Friday...09/04
Meanwhile, all info on his Computer has been LOST!
  • Including ALL PHOTOS!
This is a GOOD Time for the Blog to mention that everyone with a computer should sign up for "CARBONITE"...a back-up system that costs about $50.00 a year that backs up everything you do: Photos/Blogs/Music/etc. CARBONITE does it automatically....and Saves your Stuff! Cooker was ticked off that the Young Techno Geeks in the Family never mentioned this! Mary wants to throw the Computer out the window onto their newly constructed driveway!
  • Cooker also went on at length about the over 60 Softball League he now plays in
  • Games are Tues & Thurs at 10:30AM
  • Very Competitive he says...
He said the Coach doesn't like him (there were 11 players @ the game today and the COOKER did not start!) Had to sit next to the 78 year old coach...being the only player NOT playing!
  • I asked if he wanted me to go and talk to the Coach...he said NO! But I think he really wants me to.
Lots more to come from the Cooker when the GEEK Squad fixes his Computer...eg...
  • His "Teammates" know Dutch & Stoneman
  • They know that Stoneman has Brothers that "play in a Rock & Roll Band"...but none of them have connected Cooker with the Band!
Finally...the Entire League is in "quiet chaos" cause no-one believes that COOKER has reached the Age of 60!!!! People want to see his Driver License!!!
  • ONE CANNOT MAKE THIS STUFF UP !
and i didn't even mention the Purple bruise he showed on his inner thigh (near the groin area) from a "Too Hot to Handle" ground ball! That's why we called The Cooker "El Toro" when he played 3rd Base like a Bull Fighter with a Red Cape and Hoped the ball (like a Bull) would just Swish-on-by...
  • I could go on! For example, Cooker hits a Single and the Manager sends in a 71 year old "Pinch Runner"!
YIKES!!!! SHUT ME UP!!!! or I will be Revealing the whole Movie Script!
