NETFLIX is a respite...

Family, job, kids, politics, TV, spouse, whatever...

Netflix provides a place to go to forget about the go around...

I prefer the BBC cop shows, as does Maureen.
Less pretty girls & pretty guys & more reality...

I live in the basement. So I

don't know why I get Netflix
on my TV, but I do.
I keep my mouth shut...

Apparently, the Captain  started it all when his
daughter hollered Netflix Dad!

I just follow the stream...

You know you have lost touch with the grandson when

his Mom posts a photo of him...

Justin is 13

And someone comments that Justin reminds her kid of

Gareth Bale

Who the heck is Gareth Bale?

I'm fortunate

that the VA provides me with three separate pairs of glasses:

  • One prescription for driving
  • Another prescription for watching TV
  • And a third prescription for the computer & reading
The glasses are good, but I found them to be too heavy & clunky. So I found these

At the local Save Mart for $11.99

Select A Vision, the FLEX Model

They are really light & flexible. Really like them.

And I have not Sold Out! This is not paid advertising. I just like
the glasses & thought you might want to know.

Knock on wood!

On Tuesday, a New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission spokesperson revealed that since getting his driver's license in 1975, Muldrow had a total of 14 suspensions, eight speeding tickets, a careless driving ticket and a ticket for an improper turn in 2010.

I got my driver's license in 1962, drove numerous types of vehicles
and have had one fender bender in 1992 when I was following some
Old Fart (the irony) who failed to put on his turn signal on a rainy country road
before turning into his country home driveway...

The school bus driver cited above has had 14 suspensions of his license since '75 (a suspension is not a ticket a suspension happens after you get lots of tickets)  he also had 8 speeding tickets, a ticket for
careless driving & a ticket for an improper turn...which is what caused this tragic accident!

I'm sensitive to this stuff cause back in the '90s I applied for a part time school bus driver job in Montgomery County & I got turned down. No reason given.

Not to worry though...I did manage to find a filler job delivering The American Pravda (I mean the new york times) to rich Liberals in Montgomery County before 6:30 AM seven days a week!
In any kind of weather

Ah yes! Looks like good ole spring time has finally come to the farm land of Lancaster

Birds
Weeds

When they get on base they now put on Oven Mittens!

What an embarrasment to The Sport of Baseball!

The Wussification of the American Male...

As an Old timer from the Phila School System it was always Catholic vs Public

...when it came to Sports. We were never invited to "The States" tournaments. We never even heard about them so we did not care about them. Catholics played vs Catholics; Publics played vs Publics,
regardless of the Sport.

At the end of each seasons sport the Publics played vs the Catholics & whatever Team Won was

City Champions! (I now understand things have changed for the better)

Absolutely nobody I knew back then had a clue about this thing called "States"

I now live in Lancaster County. District, Section & L-L League Crowns are very important.

And so far the Warwick High girls track team is doing well.

Today in the early morning (like 9AM?) downpour the Warwick 4 by 800 Team beat four other Teams to make it to the afternoon Finals!
(Dierdra is on the far right)

(the 800 by 4 means that each runner runs around the track twice & hands off a baton to the next runner who runs around the track twice, 4 runners do this)

Six hours later the 4 by 800 Team beat another four Teams to win the whole darn Track Meet!

So Mother Molly (who was at the Meet) posted that
* Dierdra's Team won Section 1 & L-L
* to capture the District Triple A Team Title
* With 73 Points
* and they now Qualify for States!

That's great stuff!

I really wish I knew what all the jargon means...

Converse Jack Taylor HTW's (High Top Whites) cost $7.95 in 1959

Inflation Calculator

$7.95 in 1959 had the same buying power as $67.82 in 2018
Annual inflation over this period was about 3.70%

They are on sale today, On Line, for $55.00!

Our visit to D Street brought back a memory
burnt into my mind:

It was a Saturday, the day after my birthday & I had gotten nothing.
Me & Michael were sitting on the bottom of the steps planning our day
when Mother came out the door & yelled down,
"Gerry, you can go buy Converse sneakers at Coopers, just
bring back the change!"

Me & Michael looked @ each other & transponded
"!?!WTF?!?"
But we gathered some friends from the Rec,
went to Coopers (they asked to see our money before
I tried on the sneakers) and I got my first pair of Converse!

We did return the $2.05 change.
There was no sales tax back in those days...

And I could jump higher & run faster ever since!

Where is Korea? Where is Africa? Where is the Middle East? Where is Idaho?

Instead of the Jersey Shore vacation, rent a Motor Home & drive somewhere...

Like maybe to Texas?

What States are missing from the above Map?

To visit Magnolia Farms in Waco?

Sonia voted No! I don't know enough about Sonia to say why.
But she was born in The Bronx & probably figures the Yankees are rich enough

Briar voted No because he just wants to piss people off & always takes the
opposite side of a Ruling.

The World is changing...Chops & his buddies would have been Happy...

It's now Legal!

My Mother once told me secretly that if I want, I could call her Mom!

And then she said, "Don't you tell your sister & brothers I said that!"

My Mother was quite the character...

I have an idea!

Since the Met Gala did a Catholic theme this year

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5702785/Christian-fury-Met-Galas-blasphemous-Catholic-theme.html

Lets all plan a Muslim theme for next year!

That should provide some real Sparkle!

BASEBALL...

A First Base umpire used to have to do two things on a close call:
  1. Listen for the sound of the ball smacking against the 'pocket' of the glove, and also
  2. Listen for when the runners foot hits the bag
Did the Ump hear the ball hit the glove 1st or did the runners foot hit the bag 1st? Simple, right?

Not anymore!
Apparently, on further review, if the ball has entered the cone of the glove
before the runners foot hits the bag the runner is OUT!

More Pea Politics...

I doubt that most family members know of Eric Schneiderman or
Samantha Bee, but they are pretty much celebrated in certain circles.

Well, Smantha Bee did an interview a while back with the Atty General of NY
that has pretty much set them both & their certain circles back a yard or two.

Oh No!@#!

Congressional Budget Office says April was best month ever for economy...

I'll need to tune in to CNN Wolf Blitzer or MSNBC's  Rachel Maddow show today
to hear all about this good news!

Oh wait...what am I thinking?
