The most impressive thing Tom McCarthy has ever done as an announcer of Phillies games
Could you catch a home run ball like this? How is it that he just happens to have a glove with him??
Hippies & Soccer Fans...it's all about the Party
Like the Peace Movement in the '60's (Give Peace a Chance) to todays World Cup frenzy it's all about "hooking up". I know a young guy who has a friend that has attended the last two World Cups. I said, your friend must be a real Soccer Fan...he said, No...he is a real fan of thongs.
I don't believe they had thongs back in the '60's but they did have Bongs.
It really is all about The Party...
and the Peace thing back in the '60's & the USA!!! USA!!! thing today...
All comes down to hooking up.
Why else would you spend 3 or 4 hours watching a game that ends up 1-0...or a protest that goes nowhere?

The black mollies have had babies!
The black fish are what we call "live bearing", they reproduce. I was advised to get 1 male & more than 2 females (I got 3 hot babes). I now have black mollie babies in the tank! They are so tiny. Not sure if I have 1, 2 or 3 cause they hide themselves. I see them but no way to know if it's the same one. It's a nasty life in a Fish Tank...the big ones will eat their own..
Hope the little ones make it
I for one am psyched! I know there are few here that are...
In order:
1) Cleveland Cavaliers will take Andrew Wiggins
2) Milwaukee Bucks will take Jabari Parker
3) Philadelphia '76ers will take Joel Embiid & will then trade him to the Lakers for the #7 pick!
then the Draft will get interesting
As Peewee Herman would say:
"I don't care what you say I'll be happy anyway"
Talking dog washing here
Krimpet gets a bath about every 4 weeks, unless she gets in a mess. Krimpet got in a mess last weekend and I had my camera handy...I never had a camera handy for a Coco bath, cause there were only about 4 of them in her 15 years of dogging

One suggestion for the Washington Redskins new logo
I won't object
As opposed to the "objectionable" one they have now.
OK, didn't like that one? How a-bout this one?

HOW DID THEY MISS THE "A" LIST?
A guy named Nobel, no 1st name needed, invents explosives. Makes a zillion dollars. Feels guilty when folks start blowing other folks up. Decides to recognize folks for good stuff (Peace, chemical stuff, medical stuff, etc.) That's nice but in my world there are a few things that made a HUGE difference and those inventors deserve MY PERSONAL NOBEL PRIZE:
Inventor of the leaf blower.
Inventor of recliners.
Inventor of Chromecast.
Inventor of peanut butter, I think his name was Skippy.
Inventor of pneumatic nail guns.
Inventor of the trash compactor.
Bill Gates & Co.
I know I have more nominees but I can't think of the others right now. If you have a nominee, please add it to the list.

The Wolfe Tones - The Streets Of New York
I tried to Post this photo & video of the twin sisters on Courtney's Facebook Page. I was not
savvy enough,
ergo, I put it on the Blog. With the little cousin in-between.

My conversation with a soon to be 9 year old girl (birthday on 6/20)
Me: Nora, who is your best friend?
Nora: Susan Catherine Sissenee
Nora: her name is Susan Catherine & she has no middle name.
Me: what do you call her?
Nora: Sue
I told Nora I had a son named Mark Samuel & we call him Sam
Nora: you have a son?
Me: yes. I have 2 sons.
Nora: no way!
Me: want to see their pictures?
I then proceeded to show pictures of Sam, Jason wives & Grandkids
Nora: I know them! They were in the pool with us
Nora: and you know them?
Me: yes, I know them. Would you like a juice box?

This is one of those times when a wife would come in handy, but I did have ham & cheese & spiral rye bread!
Jason & Courtney came to Bloosom Hill today. They were here for a lesson in silk-screening from Timmy...58 shirts, front & back...white on black.
Courtney & I were chatting & she wished me a Happy Father's Day. She also mentioned that it was their 1st Anniversary.
GULP !
They were hungry, I had ham & cheese and a veggie tray & Dip and they left Happy.
I'm thinking my 1st Anniversay Gift to them was a lesson from Timmy?
(I did operate the Flash Dryer)

How good a Fan am I?
Timmy went to the Phil's game tonight with the three sons-in-law. It got me to thinking, how many times have I gone to one of the Home Town Teams games in my lifetime and watched the Live Action.
Here is my guesstimate:
Here is my guesstimate:
- Phillies: First game I saw was at Connie Mack Stadium. I think I was about 10 & I remember walking out to the stands and could not believe how great the field looked. I still have that memory burned into my brain. In my lifetime I estimate I have gone to about 60 Phillies games.
- Eagles: Have seen them live about 12 times and never bought a ticket!
- Sixers: Been there about 7 times
- Flyers: Watched three games. Not a big fan of Hockey but it is much better in person.
So I guess I'm not considered a good Fan. Are you a better Fan?

When you start to think that you may not be as sharp as you used to be.
I had to drive Maureen to BWI airport today for a 12:15 PM flight. This is the Map I consulted to find directions. It's a Sheraton Hotel Map of the USA circa 1987. The blue dots are locations of Sheratons. Not exactly the most detailed Map but I was not too concerned 'cause I thought Maureen would know how to get there. I took the route once before in 2012 when Timmy drove and they were headed to some exotic island on a get-a-way.
Anyway, Maureen had no clue as to where we were going, there were no signs that we saw indicating where BWI was, it cost me $12.00 on my EZpass cause we went to and fro with the Tunnel three times and the battery on Maureen's "smart phone" ran out!
Long story shortened, Maureen caught the flight in time & is now visiting with the newest Grand child, Seamus.
As for the not being sharp bit? Why didn't I just go to Google and get the coordinates! Duh...

A night in my life on Blossom Hill
At 6:05 PM I was visited by an Electrician (Joe White) a Plumber (John Powers) and John's wife Michelle.
(an aside...these 2 guys should team up, start a company & call it White Powers) just a thought.
They were meeting up because Timmy was taking them to Scotty's Triplex. There's work to be done there!
Timmy ends up having to drive Keelan to pick up her car, which had brake issues & he doesn't return to my patio for 2 hours.
Meanwhile Joe and John & me start with the male bull session, Michelle orders food on line from a Vietnamese Diner for pick-up...
Timmy returns, draws a Sam Adams Summer Ale, Maureen (after putting in 2 hours of overtime) comes home and they All share the VC take-out dinner.
Keelan & Blair leave for Fort Drum @ 20 hundred hours (military talk) with new brakes! But there has been no plumbing or electrical work done on the Triplex and it is now 9:05 PM EST! "There is always tomorrow Pea" the handy-men tell me...
everyone has now gone back to their places of residence
and it is back to Plum Island for me...

Talking Baseball
Let me get this out of the way before we start about Baseball. Alyce played Cello in the HS Orchestra (not the Band, she would never walk on grass, dirt, streets or March). Alyce also played half court basketball in a skirt. She also jitter-bugged with the stair post.
John played shortstop for The Northeast Boys Club team. These games required us to get in the car & drive quite a distance. The field (as I remember it) was beautiful. They had green grass, dirt infield, a fence around it, lights and bleacher seats that had to be 20 rows high. In the games I witnessed, John never had an error at shortstop. He also never had a hit, although he did advance a few base runners.
Gerry played from 6th grade through 9th grade. Gerry reached his peak in 7&8th grade when he played 2nd base & Mike McNicholas was the shortstop. We led the league in double plays turned both seasons. (I looked it up on Google). Gerry also batted .322 in 8th grade and had a Home Run off of Kenny Alfred, the most feared left hander in Little League Baseball!
Michael played 3rd base for the City Championship Team coached by our Dad. At 3rd base Michael was like the Windmill you face when you play miniature golf. You know, it keeps turning & sometimes your ball gets through & sometimes it just Stops and nothing happens. Fortunately, Michael's team had 2 really good pitchers so the other team did not pull the ball to 3rd too often. In addition to 2 good pitchers Michaels team had 3 good hitters. Once again, I looked it up on Google! Jimmy McVeigh hit .546 with 19 Home Runs. Joe Latriciano batted .522 with 27 home runs & Michael McKendry batted .444 with 37 home runs and 102 RBI's! All this was done in a season that consisted of 25 games.
Timmy...I did not get to see Timmy play baseball. I was Seminary-ized & Military-ized during that time, but that doesn't mean I have not heard tales of Greatness!
During Eddies time I was married with a pregnant wife, in college & a State Store employee, living in Lansdale and could not find GA on a map. So I did not see much of Eddies baseball days, although I wish I would have met Robbie & Monty...
As for my brother-in-law and baseball? He assisted Jackie Seminski in The Championship Season and from a rather low pitching mound, with a 6'4" frame on a cinder field at the Rec he threw the nastiest curve ball I have ever seen! I never made contact.
Even Kenny Alfred didn't have one that good...

I am thinking of going down 'a shore for a few days & I was thinking I would go to Wildwood 'cause they have a Free Beach.
I looked some stuff up & saw that NJ has 130 miles of beach. California has just over 2700 miles of beach. I guess that's why people don't complain too loudly about beach fees in NJ.
I have never been to the NY, Conn, Mass, Nova Scotia beaches. Do they charge a fee there?
Florida didn't charge a fee when I was there.

A Map of the 2012 Presidential results...Blue is Obama...Red is Romney
click on the Map for a better view
another Map showing Counties in States that went Red or Blue
In retrospect, looks to me like...how did Blue win?
Ronald Reagan election Map from 1984...his 2nd Term
OK, even if your not interested in my last Post, please explain to me how BoltBus can afford to take people from NYC to 30th Street Station for less than $10.00?
I talked to the (irish) brothers again today & they confirm that it cost under $10.00
Paddy & the Irish boys shopped at the Savation Army store today

How about if we have a major sporting event without Referees, Umpires, Judges or Stewards? I Love that a 65 to one shot did ...
