"That one is not the Sharpest Knife in the Drawer"

Have you ever used that expression ? Well, since the Wife bought me a Knife Sharpener for my Birthday, you can no longer say that about me ! I have spent my Birth Day honing everything I can get my hands on ! Our 23 Knives are now Razor Sharp, even our Forks and Spoons have been finely honed. This Tool actually allowed me to Fine Tune both Coco and Myself ! I recommend the ACCU SHARP Knife, Tool, and Body Sharpener....!!!! (PS...Brightest Bulb in the Candellier analysis to follow)

We had a Baseball Day Today !

Today, Jason took his Dad to Camden Yards for his Dads' Birthday ! (lot of Baseball talk)

  • The Cooker and Chris McGlocklin accompanied
  • The Cooker said Dallas Green probably won only 100 Games in his Career
  • The Pea said, "I'll bet he didn't Win 40"
  • I Googled Dallas Green when I got Home...
  • He was a far better "Executive" than "Player"
  • In an 8 year career his Pitching Record was 20WINS and 22LOSSES !

Camden Yards and Baltimore were Great ! and the Cooker walked Miles with a Smile !

Mariah wants to pitch in the Game....!!!

ModernTube: Mariah Carey and history's worst first pitch - Big League Stew - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

I am watching the Womens College World Series on ESPN...

Excuse me, a pop foul between Home plate and first Base, AND no-one caught it ! I truly believe (even at our age) my brothers' and I, along with Brother Paul, and a few Volunteers would "kick Butt" vs these Women softball Players ! We would have no Pitcher that can match their pitchers...but we would "slow pitch them to defeat " !

Maybe we could get on ESPN, ala Bobby Riggs ???

I cannot help it...

OBAMA: "On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in...in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."
I'll bet a lot of those "fallen heroes" would like to have been in the Audience, or anywhere... for that matter...
What a foolish thing to say.

One of my Favorite Announcers..."Wheels"

I think he is informative, knowledgable, and I like that he is not an ex-Jock....

How often do you awake in a "Bad Mood"?

...and how long 'til you turn it around?

There will be more of this...political stuff...

Harlan County takes sides every year since the 1930s, the urban and academic left has championed the miners of rural Kentucky to show their solidarity with the working class. The struggles of workers in this region to unionize was memorialized in numerous songs that entered the repertoire of popular left wing musicians from Woody Guthrie and Peter Seeger to Natalie Merchant. Florence Reece's strident "Which Side Are You On" was adopted by both the civil rights and the anti-war movement. They say in Harlan County There are no neutrals there. You'll either be a union man Or a thug for J. H. Blair.Which side are you on, boys Which side are you on So how exactly did the media's anointed agent of progressive change fare in Harlan County yesterday? Barak Obama got just 9% of the vote. As bad as that is, it's almost double the percentage he won in nearby Floyd and Magoffin counties. Posted at 07:18 PM Email

I am sorry...but ...

Johnny Carson started it & now these people ride the Wave ! I believe Letterman has sunk the Lowest... Conan is trying too hard, has done better than I thought he would, but makes no sense most of the Time . Stewart is the Political Liberal Jokester that a lot of young people follow, ergo, a bad influence. Leno is to be replaced by Conan next year. I watched Letterman tonite, he made Fun of the Jenna Bush wedding, had dog tricks and now on to Guests. Not a Bad Gig @ $30million + per year. I do enjoy Paul Schaeffer and Kevin Ubank!
Only In America
If you don't agree ...try it in Burma..
Oh yea, forgot to mention...

A Michael Moment

THE MICHAEL WE IMAGINE....Bond.........James Bond............
There I am taking 6, 16 oz. beer glasses down to the basement bar. Easy enough. 3 in each hand, gripped by the fingers in the glasses. Put glasses on the table. Open the door. Pickup the glasses. Try to close the door while holding the glasses in each hand. No can do. Put the glasses in the right hand down and close the door. Go to pickup the glasses and my longsleeve shirt is caught in the door. Can't reach the door. My left hand is holding 3 glasses. A MICHAEL MOMENT. How do these goofy things happen? Running through my mind at that very second is a mental image of Michael in his Exxon togs watching the car pull off with the hose still attached. Followed by the image of the floor sweeper crashing off the trailer. Followed by........

"Bold As Love"

Day by day, I sit at work and listen to music with my headphones on... Basically, I draw all day and listen to music, while getting paid for it. Well, a few months ago, through my iTunes" I downloaded "Continuum", an album by John Mayer. To me he was just bubble gum music, to me he just made music for the teen generation. Well, I was wrong. WoW! Throughout the entire process of listening to the album, one song stuck out... "Bold As Love"... I thought to myself, "Self, this guy can write..." Cut to a few months later, I decide to download every Jimi Hendrix album I can find... The next thing I know, I hear Jimi playing "Bold As Love"!!!!!!! As happy as I am to say hearing the original version was much better, I feel cheated! Where is the "Jimi Hendrix" of my generation? How come the HR records can be broken, rushing yard leader is smashed, NBA scoring records are challenged but yet when it comes to music, I wonder where are the "Superstars"??? Who is the guy for my generation where in 50 years from now they say "That guy was a guitar god" or "Other the Eddie Blaze, I feel like the guitar players of that generation sucked ..."
Where did they all go?

This is one tough guy...

Ya talk about your "TUFF GUYS"...

...If I were a Coach in the NFL I would make a GIANT Poster out of this...........!!!

Did you know that the Rev Wright went to Central High in Phila ?

Do You Need Rehab Days???

Is it me? Why do injured MLB players need "rehab" games? I find "rehab games" to be ridiculous. If you can play, then PLAY! If I am sick and miss a day of work, do I need a “rehab day” and work out of home the day after I am sick? No! Why does Jimmy Rollins, 2007 NL MVP, need at least two “rehab” games? Especially after going 4 for 4 in the first… Shouldn’t he know if he is ready to play yet? He didn’t break anything, it was just a sprain. Ever hear of "taping it up"? Isn’t a 75% Jimmy Rollins better then a 100% Eric Bruntlett?

Jimmy Rollins will make $8,000,000 this year. That comes out to $43,956 a day. Jimmy was injured on April 8th, that was 28 days ago. Since then he has made $1,230,768. So, he will make $87,912 to play in two "Rehab" games...

For the past few weeks I have watched on TV Jimmy Rollins doing running drills. I've seen him do the cone drill, a base running drill, some fielding drills. He looked fine to me. Oh yeah, I have also seen him on the 76ers bench, laughing it up…

Thank god for Chase Utley. He is, by far, the best player on the Phillies team. Rollins! Thanks for 2007! You won as many playoff games as the Marlins did last year... 2007 is over with… Get your a** to Arizona!

So much Effort and Results Vary.

NHL...Hockey....they work so hard and they have so little to show for it....
Polls and Surveys have Proven...
  • 96.7% of Scores in the NHL are due to LUCK
  • 54.4% of Scores in MLB are due to LUCK
  • 43.0% of Scores in the NFL are attributed to LUCK
  • 27.6% of Scores in the NBA are because of Luck

"I'd rather be LUCKY than Good" Is that True ?

No question they are Great at what they do...but LUCK plays a big part .

My neighbor is very creative, helpful and friendly...

...he grows his own Fruit and vegetables, replaced the roof on his home himself, built his own lawnmower. Should I tell him about the Invention of the Wheel...or continue watching him struggle with the Mowing of his Lawn ?

Who is this Person?

Free at last, Free at last....

We've been looking forward to this since 1972. Our last little chickadee is graduating from high school. Ahhhhhhhhhh freedom! No more "can you sign this?", "I need $20, $40, $100 for a .........fundraiser", "Our coach is a __________ (fill in the blank)", back to school nights, Prom committee meetings, Progress Reports, etc. Now we can start acting like our 2 kid friends, eat only Healthy Choice prepared meals, go to bed at 9:00 PM, separate beds, or bedrooms, watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune together, you know, grownup stuff. Anybody see my slippers and Medamucil?

Ever feel like you need a "Make-over" ?

Blaze said, the more often you go, the more they find...

SCARY STUFF...if you let it get to you....
My Dermotologists think they "own" me...I'm now told that I need to apply this cream to my arms and face...ALSO;
  • Do-not leave the House without Sunscreen on, at least a 30...
  • Wear a hat at all times
  • Long sleeve shirts are best
  • This cream will make your condition look worse before it gets better
  • You spent too much time in the Sun (it was esatablished at a young age)
  • The SUN is not Your Friend, sunny boy....
  • You may have Sunshine on your Shoulder...(and you are Not John Denver!)
