Pea is for Politics! Let us see if I can Post this the way I want it...where is Eddie when I need him!

"His appearance also would be a political poke in the eye at Republican presidential candidates who are to gather for a campaign debate in California at the same hour as the president's speech."

I could not do it! The gist of the story is that Barak has "requested" time to address a joint session of congress on Wed, Sept 7 @ 8PM. Like a State of the Union Address,  And, yes, the President has to "request" time before a Joint Session.

  • Problem is, that is the same night that Republicans are holding a debate @ The Ronald Reagan Library among people that are running to oppose BHO for Pres in the 2012 election.
Some are saying that the BHO's   re-election team chose the date to minimize the Republican debate. Others' are saying..."!@#$%^&*( "
  • Harry Reid says BHO can talk to a joint session of congress any time & any day.
  • John Boehner says Sept 7 is not a good time, maybe Sept 8...BUT!
September 8 is the opening night for the NFL! Not a good night for Politicians on Prime Time TV...
  • SO...what night will Barak Hussein Obama address the Nation in a Joint Session to Congress to outline to us his Plan to turn the Economy around & provide jobs for unemployed Americans ?
PS.....Partisan fight leads Obama to move date of speech

McKendry Brothers

Some of the McKendry Brothers got together with Mr. Zee and had a few drinks. I'm not sure who snapped this picture of us but it sure does look like someone said something funny.

Pea is for Politics! Maybe you have heard or read somewhere that Warren Buffett believes he is not Taxed enough...well

Warren 'Raise My Taxes' Buffett's Company May Owe IRS $1 Billion

..."allegedly", his company owes the USA about $1 billion in back TAXES! Warren is also famous for saying, 'my secretary pays a higher tax rate than I do"> That's because his secretary receives a 'pay check" while Warren's income comes from "capital gains">  Capital Gain Tax rate is 15%. Earned Income rate goes anywhere from 10% to 35% & the Democrats want to make it 39%...

  • Bottom line? We, the People are not sending enough $$$ to Washington during this Recession.
  • of course, statistically, the Recession ended in June of 2009.
  • But! The slow growth & problems continue because of the  George Bush "tax cuts for the Rich!"
I am wound up and I could go on...but I will take a deep breath and be thankful I don't have 1st graders starting School today.
  • hope you had a Good Day in 1st grade today Justin...!

I'm thinking when I move to Lancaster I would like to join a Gun Club...

...less stigma than joining a Gun Club in Philadelphia. Especially when you intend to run for Local Political Office!

So, the Obama/Holder Justice Dept invades Gibson Guitar Co for Illegal use of Wood!

illegal wood? I remember a certain owner of a certain make/model of a popular "Nitar" (jason's name for a guitar when he was young) telling me he (Michael)  had a Nitar made from Rosewood from some Exotic Island.
Now Eric Holder & the DOJ are invading Nitar Shops....

Meanwhile! I recently purchased a SNARK & I still cannot Tune my Nitar!

"The Gay Surfer" photographed in the surf in Sea Isle City, NJ! I heard him Holler...

"...welcome Irene! Thanks to the weather channel, I knew you were coming!"

Brother Eddie has promised that he will be here in the next 30 Days to walk me through the Flip Camera...

I used the Flip camera in Johnson City, Tenn & these are the only photos I have been able to Post! "You can call me John!...you can call me John T, or you can call me John, John...but ya doesn't have to call me Johnson!!!

Can your grand-kid read this Clock?

...or, is your grand-kid Totally Digital?

One of only Two controversial statements I made in Johnson City, Tennessee...

I asked Forrest if a Priest gave him his car...it is a 2001 Blue, 4 door Buick...

  • Forrest asked, "what?"
I said, nevermind...

Hurricanes & frenzied shoppers...I am not making this up!

I went to Four Stores today @ about 1:00PM...

  1. ACME
  2. BJ's
  3. State Store
  4. BMJ's Deli in Roxborough
and every store had an excess of shoppers! It was like the Day before a Blizzard! BJ's had a sign up that said...
  • SORRY, WE HAVE SOLD OUT OF GENERATORS.
Instead of waiting in line at the Deli counter (which was 4 deep) I bought pre-packaged cheese slices and a Canned Ham!

Apples & things to do with them

Carol had an Apple corer, peeler. I had never seen one before, so I asked, "what do you do with that?" She makes all kinds of things APPLE using the device.

  • Apple sauce
  • Apple fritters
  • Apple Pie
  • Apple computers
  • Apple jelly
etc...it was a neat thing to watch in action...is this a device every Baker has?

During my visit in Tenn Sam's Children Books came up, Forrest & Carol are new Grand-parents...

They say they will order them from Amazon.com. I told them that would be great...just don't write a Nasty Review...LOL! you have to know the History to appreciate the Present...

  • Call me on my Cell...215-868-1522...

I am old & I don't want to drive I-95 in a Hurricane

I was in Tennessee for the past 3 days and had scheduled a trip to Kate & Andy's place on my return trip to Roxborough, Pa. Kate & Andy's home is near Richmond, Va. I should mention that Kate & Andy did not actually know that I had scheduled a stop-over at their place, but I would have called them on my cell (215-868-1522) when I was at least 5 miles away.

  • after checking the Weather Map I decided to circumvent Va, DC, Md, De and Irene and just head on home via 81 North and 76 East...
A Bonus Question! Can you identify Tennessee on the Map & can you name the Eight (8) States that border Tennessee?
  • To Double your Money! Answer this! The former Mens' BBall Coach was? And, the current Womens' BBall Coach is?
Triple your Bet!   Did Eli Manning Graduate from the U of Tenn?

Long distance driving...

...even when you tell yourself I am not in a hurry, I will just take it easy. You still get caught up in the experience. At least I do...

When you consider yourself a "Good Driver", as I do,  it is really difficult to just Glide along in the right hand lane & witness so many Driver Infractions! E.G....

  1. staying in the Left Lane! Speed Limit may be 70 & these Jerks think going 70 in the Passing Lane is Fine!
  2. I pass the above  Jerk in the right lane & they speed up to prevent me from getting ahead of them!
  3. Semi-Truck drivers put their left signal on & believe they are free to move you to the rear. And proceed unaware, for the next 8 miles, that it is taking them too long to get back in the right lane.
  4. So many people you pass come back to pass you, while you have maintained a speed of 78MPH & they have altered their speed!
  5. So many people slow down when passing a truck
  6. So many Trucks pass these people on a "down-grade" And I sometimes think the Family Van will head for the "Runaway Truck Ramp"!
Anyways...I think I broke the Record from Johnson City, Tn to Phila. 8 hours, 30 minutes. I know I could have shaved off another 20 minutes if three Dump Trucks had not been in the Left Lane from W Va to Chambersburg, Pa!
  • In case you are wondering...I did call Forrest & Posted my "official time". I'm sure he has already recorded it...in the Official Record Keeper Note Book...

Naive Me! I was actually on line w/ "Got Junk?" when I said to myself...

It's trash night, take some stuff out of the garage & put it on the curb! "Got Junk" has a minimum charge of $149.00. Check out their web site. Anyways...I put out on the curb:

  • 4 lawn chairs
  • 1 kerosene heater
  • 1 old cooler
  • 1 old stand up Fan
They were all gone within the hour!
  • Norton! you're a Genius!

Dinner for three ended up costing under $9.00 because The Host had coupons/clippings/AARP stuff and persistence...

Top Ten Cheapest Celebrity Tippers
1.) Tiger Woods: Claims he never carries cash.
2.) Madonna: Once left an $18 tip on a $400 bill.
3.) Barbra Streisand: Famous for leaving $10 tip for $457 tab.
4.) LeBron James: Didn't ever get tipping talents, left $10 on an $800 bill.
5.) Jeremy Piven: Left signed Entourage DVD as tip.
6.) Usher: Once left his autograph as a tip.
7.) Mariah Carey: Famous for diva demands and no tips!
8.) Sean Penn: Left $0 on a $450 tab in New Orleans.
9.) Bill Cosby: Once left a $3 tip on a $350 bill
10.) Rachael Ray: Promotes less than 20 percent tip on her show.

Dinner for three had to be at least, what? $60.00? We did have four beers among us...that alone is at least $12.00! (we were in Central Pa, not Downtown Phila)
Question is...Did The Host Tip based on the final Tab or on the Original Cost?

  • I have to admit, The Host has his discounts well figured out!

In preparation for a Trip to Naples, Fl an inquiry was made re: the USB port hole in my KIA Sorento.

Large circle is left end of horizontal line. The line forks into three branches ending in circle, triangle and square symbols.
The basic USB trident logo; each released version has a specific logo variant[clarification needed]
A group of seven companies began development on USB in 1994: CompaqDECIBMIntelMicrosoftNEC and Nortel. The goal was to make it fundamentally easier to connect external devices to PCs by replacing the multitude of connectors at the back of PCs, addressing the usability issues of existing interfaces, and simplifying software configuration of all devices connected to USB, as well as permitting greater data rates for external devices. The first silicon for USB was made by Intel in 1995.[2]
After reading this explanation in Wikipedia I now have a full understanding as to how my laptop will function during my venture...

NOT!

this just in from "the Onion"....Kamakaze Swimmers Finally Reach Pearl Harbor!

About 3 or 4 years ago we were driving along the PCH North of Redondo Beach when Sam exclaimed..."that's Kevin Federline!"

he was driving a Lamborghini(sic)
Neither Judith Ann nor myself knew who Kevin the Federline was...Sam & Kelly waved at him!
  •  just a moment ago I saw him featured on the Yahoo Home Page...
only in The USA!

  • The Sleeping Bag cost me $39.99 + Tax @ Dick's.

STRIPES! Cracks Me Up!

Yes, this 'Get-A-Way" weekend I learned to bake an Irish Soda Bread!

...and while @ TJ & Mo's place I learned what it looks like when two women (Keelan/Meghan) are in "Panic Mode" over the Baking of 36 Highly Decorated Cupcakes and a Flamboyantly Decorated Chocolate Cake that is still being tended to before taking off on a 45 minute drive to make the "Guaranteed Delivery" with screams of...  "This is No Time for making Humorous Comments Uncle Gerry!!@#$%^&*()_!!!"

  • PS...Keelan made the delivery with time to spare...
PPS...Paddy was no help at all

My challenge to Kelly...

This is a recent Photo that Kelly put up on her Facebook page.  For the past 12 weeks or so Kelly has been arising @ 5AM for a 6AM workout that is being Filmed by those "Hollywood Types". When I was there I witnessed it! They even give her 3 meals a day in a giant Green thermos like Back-pac which she carries home each day. That's all she ate! I admit, most of it looked pretty good.
Well, talking to Sam tonite, he tells me they offered the work-out people another 30 days...Free of Charge. Kelly signed up.
So, my challenge to Kelly when I saw this photo was...

  • With all the working out you have been doing I will be REALLY Impressed when you can hold all THREE of your kids in your arms at the same time...
Kelly has not yet responded to my challenge.

Wednesday morning Drama @ Pea's place & I Post this cause I feel Good!

Sophie had to be picked up @ PHL about 12:30 PM & I had to go to the VAMC at about the same time.  Sophie is a repeat customer.. I could not breathe. Seems I am a repeat customer @ the VAMC.  Yes, on Saturday I once again tasted the turf in the Pea Pantry...passed out...tattooed my Face once again.

  • I got dropped off @ the VAMC- & found myself @ the "Head of the Line" in each Stage of the ER...I couldn't breathe.
  • got Great Care. Lectured to  & Tested: EKG, 5 blood vials, 4 "culture growth" bottles, a CT Scan, a Chest X-ray two IV's & a Jet Pilot Face Mask with Oxygen & Steam coming through.
Sophie got picked up on time. She was discovered in Terminal "D"
  • I have a 4PM appointment today with my Primary Care Doc...he is not going to be pleased with my efforts regarding my Health.
I called Stoneman Wed. about 10AM.  Telling him that we cannot leave Sophie out there alone! He had no clue who Sophie was or what I was calling about.  I gave him a description of Sophie, the time of her arrival & details of my dilemma. He jumped into Action saying..."I'll be right over!"...he was Tardy...
  • we left here @ 11:55AM, got to the VAMC @ 12:23PM
Stoney then went in search of Sophie! To make a Long Story Longer...
  • Sophie was picked up on time (though she did question whether she was being Babe-napped) since she is only 60 years old & had never met A StoneMan before!
Stoney got me out of the VAMC @ about 5:30PM  and we proceeded to the "Urban Saloon" on Fairmount Ave for Beers & a Sandwhich... So I Ask...

  • Other than a Wife...who is better than a Brother?

I was innocently checking out "Blog Features" & the side show appeared. I have Zippo to do w/ what was chosen...it was The Blog Observer's

... meanwhile, down in "Ginny"...The photo above was sent to me by Andy (TJ's favorite son-in-law) who, when he saw this he asked TJ..."what the @#$% are you doing?" Putting one used Ketchup Bottle on top of another Full Ketchup Bottle to Drain what? more ketchup?

  • Andy went on to say to TJ..."don't embarrass Me! Just go open up a New Ketchup Bottle!!!Jeez!!!"
to which TJ responded..."waste not, want not..."

#1 Son called me on Friday night & told me that he & his Misses were disappointed...

...that the Blog has not been opinionating on the current Political situation coming out of DC! What with the Budget deal, the Rating Downgrade, the Tea Party takeover, the Jason Werth debacle & the departure of McNabb & Haynesworth...they think The Blog has been Too Mellow!

  • perhaps they have a Point...

Now-a-days, with the Ball that hit the dirt being replaced along with Players & Ball Girls handing them to Fans...

...how many Baseballs do you think are used in the average MLB Game?

  • And...what do you think MLB pays for one Baseball?

Thursday, August 4, 2011

Phils are in "The City By The Bay" & Timmy is stuck in Virginia in his Favorite Daughter's house without the MLB Network!

That's why I bought a bag of peanuts at The Acme today, so I could munch on them while watching the game. My question is...The Acme had two different bags of peanuts to choose from.

  1. Salted Peanuts
  2. Non Salted Peanuts
If the Peanuts are in their shell...
  1. Do they PUT the Salt into the Peanut Shell, or...
  2. ...Do they SUCK the Salt out of the Peanut Shell ?
I'm just wondering. And did you notice that The Fans in the stands are wearing jackets, sweat shirts & sweaters?

  • much cooler than a 90degree+ cellar in Philadelphia...
...and why don't the PHILS have away jerseys that say...PHILADELPHIA ???

For the 1st time in 17 years someone knocked on the door & asked if I wanted my lawn cut!

No...this is not a Photo of Jeff! But, this is what Jeff looked like in my Eyes when he said, "I'll cut your lawn for $10.00". I paid Jeff $20.00..I have to mention that Jeff had ...

  • A Lawn Mower with Wide back wheels
  • A weed Wacker
  • and an Extension cord
  • He had No Truck! He was walking through the neighborhood looking to make a BUCK!
I just hope that Jeff was not "casing the joint" since I am paranoid & Jeff knows that my "Mad Dog Coco"  is no longer here...
  • Some of this stuff I am teasing about...
but Jeff seemed like an "old school" lawn mower...looking to make some Money...

There is nothing More Pleasant than a Happy Woman...!

Kevin Durant: Catches Fire in the 4th Qtr

The Video reminds me of many years ago when I was assigned to "Guard" Geoff Petrie in the "Gold Medal Tournament": in Phila. I never saw anything like it! The Man could shoot the Jumper when he dribbled 2 steps past half-court. Geoff was a #ONE Draft choice...people that play Pro Ball (in any Sport)  are so much better than Gym Rats!

  • PS...Geoff Petrie was way more talented than "Jimmy Walker"...

Philly has a problem with "Flash Mobs" & Mayor Nutter had this to say about that...

Nutter said the response plan would be unveiled the week of Aug. 8, after his scheduled return from vacation. He said the plan would "consider enforcement options, prosecution, social response, counseling and neighborhood outreach.

    • that'll solve the Problem...all they need is a little counseling & neighborhood outreach, among other things.. LIBERALS!
